Yesterday marked an incredible achievement for #TeamForward as our team of 21 runners took on, and conquered, the London Marathon, raising an astonishing £85,000 for The Forward Trust.

Our team of incredible runners, including our Chair, Tony Adams, all managed to dig deep and doge injury to complete the race and cross the finish line, a testament to their hard-work and training.

Thanks to the generous donations #TeamForward received, these funds will support people to recover from addiction or leave behind crime, helping people move on in life with family, friends, jobs, homes, and a sense of belonging.

The atmosphere throughout the day was truly unforgettable. From the energy at the start line to the cheers echoing along the route and the emotion at the finish, it was a powerful reminder of what makes this event so special. Several runners shared how moving it was to reach the finish, with many describing the experience as overwhelming in the best possible way.

A huge thank you to our team of runners who joined #TeamForward:

Ellie, Haley, Mayla, Quentin, Zoe, Heidi, Ian, Poppy, Jim, Sarah, Alexandra, Barny, Alex, Harkiran, Thomas, Maxwell, Joseph, Luke, Lawrie, Spencer and Tony (Adams).

Ellie, who was running in memory of her late brother, Jack, who sadly passed away last year, shared her story about why she chose to join #TeamForward:

"Jack was such a kind man who never walked past someone in need. He would offer food or kindness without any hesitation. From him, I did learn that any small act or gesture can mean nothing from one person, but everything to another.”

Quentin, celebrating his 11th year of sobriety, said:

“Addiction destroys and ruins lives, and destroys families. The Forward Trust helps people into recovery, and rebuilds lives and reunites families. What better cause can there be?”

Tony Adams MBE, Forward’s Chair of Trustees, also completed the marathon on behalf of #TeamForward. Approaching the finishing line, Tony joked:

“Thank you everyone, never doing it again. Brutal. Think it’s even worse than Strictly (Come Dancing)”!

To everyone who ran, donated, and supported, thank you for making this such a memorable and meaningful day.
