About The Forward Trust
The Forward Trust is a social justice charity that each year helps over 30,000 people recover from addiction and mental health problems, leave behind crime, find jobs, homes and a sense of belonging, to move forward with their lives.
Since 1991, we have been working with people to build positive and productive futures. We believe that anyone is capable of lasting change, as celebrated in our More Than My Past and Taking Action on Addiction campaigns, which are spearheaded by our Royal Patron HRH The Princess of Wales and Chair of Trustees, Tony Adams MBE.
Our CEO
Mike Trace is The Forward Trust's CEO and a former UK Government Drug Czar. His vast knowledge and experience in the field ensures that he is regularly approached by radio, press and tv stations for comment and to provide subject-level expertise based on Forward's work. He is a trusted expert for the UK government and recently spoke at a Justice Committee meeting on the subject of prisoner welfare and rehabilitation programmes in UK prison - watch a short clip from this meeting.
Mike provides live and pre-recorded interviews with the media to provide expert insights on our work, with specific interest in prison reform and rehabilitation. His recent media coverage has included features on prison capacity and the early release scheme (Channel 4 News) and the need for better addiction and recovery programmes in UK prisons (Channel 4 News).
