People from across Hull's recovery community are set to come together this summer for a new event celebrating recovery, connection and personal achievement.
Taking place on Thursday 16 July at Jubilee Central, Hull Unity Day will bring together individuals, families, professionals and recovery services from across the city for a day dedicated to recognising the transformative power of recovery.
The event has been developed by local recovery services including ReNew, The Bridges, and the Yorkshire and Humber Dependency and Recovery Team, alongside The Forward Trust, with the aim of creating a city-wide celebration that unites people regardless of which service they have accessed or supported.
Hosted by The Forward Trust's Julie Muir, the event builds on the success of previous recovery reunions held in Hull, while creating a new and inclusive space for the wider recovery community to come together.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear powerful recovery stories, enjoy live music performances and take part in an open mic session focused on gratitude and reflection. A recovery countdown celebration will recognise the achievements of individuals at different stages of their recovery journey, while a live recording of The Forward Trust's Believe in People Podcast will feature a special guest from the wider Forward family.
The event reflects The Forward Trust's belief that recovery thrives through connection, community and hope. By bringing together people with lived experience, frontline professionals and local organisations, Hull Unity Day aims to inspire others, celebrate progress and demonstrate what can be achieved when people are supported to make positive change.
The day is open to everyone, including people currently accessing services, those in long-term recovery, family members, colleagues, partner organisations and local professionals. Organisers hope the event will become a lasting annual celebration of recovery in Hull, helping to strengthen connections across the city and create new opportunities for people to share their experiences and support one another.
Hull Unity Day takes place from 10am to 3pm on Thursday 16 July at Jubilee Central, Hull.
