The Forward Trust supports more than 40,000 people a year across England and Wales to recover from addiction, move away from crime and build brighter futures.

This year, we invited our recovery community to explore their creativity and share their stories through photography. The response was inspiring with more than 300 photographs!

Choosing just 12 winning images for this calendar was no easy task. The photographs, titles and descriptions moved and inspired us, capturing the feelings, experiences and personal journeys that make recovery unique.

The winning entries were unveiled at an exhibition at the Photographers’ Gallery in London on 4th November 2026, alongside photographs from everyone who entered - these are brought together on the front cover, celebrating the creativity, courage and stories of all our participants.

We hope these photographs inspire you, make you smile, spark a thought or two, and keep you going throughout the year. Whatever your own journey looks like, please take a moment to celebrate your own milestones, big or small, and remember how far you have come.

Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who entered, our judges for their time and care, and designer Mike Lawrence for bringing the calendar to life. Thank you also to Alan Millar and the team at the Photographers’ Gallery. Very special thanks to Constantin Kirwan-Taylor for his invaluable support in making this project possible.

The Forward Trust Arts and Sport Network celebrates recovery by bringing people together to share their talents, creativity and passions through arts, sports and other activities. It’s about building connections, discovering new opportunities, and showing what’s possible in recovery.
