Southend Treatment and Recovery Service (also known as STARS) is delivered alongside our partners Open Road. The service helps people aged 18 or over who are experiencing challenges with their use of drugs and/or alcohol or people who are impacted indirectly because a significant other is experiencing these challenges (it doesn’t matter if the significant other is not ready to get support themselves).
Our support is tailored to each person’s needs, so it will look slightly different for everyone. When people first get in touch, we’ll do an assessment to better understand what will work for them before devising a plan to help us work together.
Services delivered at our Southend hub include:
One-to-one and group support.
Health checks and testing for blood-borne viruses, including Hepatitis C.
Detox help.
Medication assisted treatment and naloxone dispensing.
A needle exchange service.
Dedicated outreach team to support homeless and rough sleeping clients.
Dedicated criminal justice team.
Support from peers who have been through similar experiences.
Ongoing recovery support.
Specialist services to support young people through our partner, Open Road, which is delivered in the community (not the hub).
Transitional specialist service for 18–29-year-olds delivered in partnership with Open Road.
Our services are for people who:
