What is Recovering Families UK?

The Recovering Families UK (RFUK) Online Programme is a 20-session programme that addresses the impact addiction can have on family members. It is an online, structured, educational group programme, which focuses on improving participants knowledge and understanding around addiction and provides helpful tools to support coping and wellbeing.

The programme aims to help family members:

  • Better understand addiction.

  • Identify and improve coping strategies.

  • Improve their own self-care and wellbeing.

  • Connect with others who have shared experiences of family addiction.

The programme consists of 14 groups sessions, 3 mandatory one-to-one sessions and 3 optional one-to-one sessions with a trained facilitator. Participants have access to an online RFUK Hub and an RFUK Reflective Toolkit. On completion of the programme, they can also be referred to the Forward Connect service, accessible via the Forward App.

The programme is suitable for adult family members aged 18 and over who:

  • Are impacted by someone else’s addiction.
