Talk to us

When you say ‘yes’ to fundraising for The Forward Trust you open a wealth of different ways to take part in that will help raise funds.

You might want to get sponsorship to join an event like running a marathon, half marathon or hiking over peaks and mountains. For the more adventurous who don’t quiver at the thought of heights, activities such as sky-diving, parachuting or abseiling might get them going. Then, there’s cycling – and countless other physical opportunities.

Sign up yourself or look at what else is on offer. Otherwise, consider organising your own event. An annual Christmas quiz organised by one of our trustees raised £23,135 in 2024, for example, and £19,357 the year before. Maybe you could do something similar? Or, an evening event? Some sort of sales fair where stall holders contribute a percentage of takings to The Forward Trust. The list of possibilities is endless.

  • Concerts / Gigs - team up with local musicians and find a friendly venue.
  • Concerts in the Park – teaming up with a local park and musicians for an outdoor concert.
  • Dinner Parties or Balls – consider a themed dinner or traditional black-tie ball.
  • Festivals or Crafting Days -  plan a festival or crafting afternoon for your community so entrance fees and donations raise funds.
  • Bake Sales – you bake, they bake and then people pay you for the pleasure of eating it. Easy!
  • Danceathons – dancers donate to come and well, dance. Or, do a silent disco.
  • Sports match - plan a charity match with your local team or club. It’s a fun way to get people involved and raise money on the day.
  • Dress up or dress down - pick a theme and have some fun with it. Whether it’s fancy dress or something more low-key, make it your own and have some fun with it.
  • Share your skills - offer something you are good at in return for donations. Whether it is art, baking, haircuts or photography, your skills can go a long way.
