Now in its 34th year, Recovery Month celebrates the success of those in recovery from all addictive behaviours.

‘Together We Can’ – International Overdose Awareness Day 2024 

Today 31st August marks International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) – this day seeks to create better understanding of overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths and create change that reduces the harms associated with drug use.

Mongolian Runner Sets World Record with Forward Trust at London Marathon

South Asian Heritage Month

Today (18th July) marks the start of South & East Asian Heritage Month and we send greetings to everyone in the community commemorating it.  This year’s theme is ‘Free to be me’ and Forward is working harder than ever to support anyone affected by addiction.

Making employability count – a review of the ‘Evaluation of Restart Scheme Report’

This month, Forward launched Restart Extension and our new IPS Employment Service in Medway.  Our existing employability scheme, The Restart Scheme, has already supported 2400 participants, working very closely with our existing Adult Skills and Multiply offer, along with other Forward Trust Substance Misuse, Housing and Recovery Support services in East Kent.

Pleasing and progressive – King’s Speech shows courage and feeds some hope

In today’s King’s Speech (17th July), we were encouraged to hear that housing was introduced early on via the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, which brings focus to the delivery of high quality infrastructure and housing.
