Lily Allen joins The Forward Trust as an Ambassador
In an exclusive interview with The Times, Lily speaks of her past and the moment she hit ‘rock bottom’ before finding recovery.
Lily said:
“I am thrilled to be joining Forward Trust as an Ambassador. Its campaign [Taking Action on Addiction] to reduce the stigma of addiction so more people can get the help they need is profoundly important and I am looking forward to supporting its incredible work.”
Lily began her illustrious career at the age of 17 posting covers and original recordings on Myspace garnering thousands of listeners, including her double-platinum and number one hit, ‘Smile’. Lily has since gone on to release further critically acclaimed albums, presenting, and starred in the West End in the play ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’, for which she received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress.
Currently, Lily can be found on her acclaimed podcast, ‘Miss Me?,’ alongside lifelong friend, Miquita Oliver.
Lily joins Forward’s esteemed line-up of ambassadors including Bryony Gordon, Tony Adams, Chris Difford and Lola Bute among many others.
On Friday 29th November, Forward received a heartwarming message of support from our Royal Patron, HRH The Princess of Wales, in support of this year’s Addiction Awareness Week which starts today (30th November – 7th December.)
