Clouds House carol service offers a festive treat for those that truly need it
On Thursday 7th December, over 100 people from across the Forward and Clouds House family, and residents of East Knoyle, attended an evening carol service at St Mary’s Church to help raise new pledges to support the important work delivered at Clouds – now in its 40th year of service delivery.
Since 1983, Clouds has provided residential rehabilitation support for people from all walks of life seeking support for addiction. Recently rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), this clinically-renowned treatment facility is often praised for providing a wide-range of interventions including talking therapies, medically-assisted detox and post-admission support.
One of the unique aspects of Clouds House is its mix of diverse clients from all over the country. The venue itself is often considered to be of architectural importance being Grade II listed and set back in the expansive Wiltshire countryside – making it ideal location for people to start their recovery.
Clouds House offers treatment for both private and funded clients, and the carol service provided a welcome opportunity for the Forward Trust to unite with its fundraising community during the festive season.
Carols included ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ and ‘Silent Night’, with a number of Bible readings and The Lords Payer also delivered throughout the intimate service, led by the Reverend Kate McFarlane.
Highlights of the service also include a reading by a former graduate of Clouds, alsongside a closing Christmas Message by The Right Honourable David Bernstein, chair of The Forward Trust.
