Celebrating Forward’s Investing in Volunteers accreditation
Investing in Volunteers is the UK standard for good practice in volunteer management. Achieving this accreditation demonstrates how an organisation values its volunteers and can instil confidence in all involved. We are proud to have gained this accreditation for the forth time, as it highlights the hard work we do with our dedicated volunteering teams across The Forward Trust.
Speaking about regaining our Investing in Volunteers accreditation, our HR Business Partner Abigail Grey said:
“We are thrilled to have achieved re-accreditation, which reflects the ongoing commitment and dedication to supporting our incredible volunteers. A special acknowledgement goes to our Volunteer Lead, Mystica Burridge, whose tireless efforts and leadership were pivotal in this achievement. Mystica is currently on maternity leave and we are immensely grateful for her contributions towards this.”
At Forward, we are proud of the work our volunteers do and aim to ensure we support them in the best way possible. We offer a range of volunteering opportunities including mentoring and community & prison support roles.
Leon, who previously accessed Forward’s services whilst in prison, is now one of our brilliant volunteers:
“The Forward Trust has done a lot for me, I’m so happy to be a part of it because I have a lot to give and a lot to share. Forward has helped me to change, and a lot of people look up to me. I can now show that change is possible, which is why I like to visit the prisons, so they can visibly see how change is possible.”
We’re so proud of the work we do with our volunteers and would like to express our thanks to the staff that have worked hard to achieve this well-deserved accreditation.
However, our biggest thanks must go to the volunteers themselves. Volunteers are an integral part of how we operate at Forward and make a huge difference to the lives of our service users.
