Aconveyancing’s incredible charity fun day raises thousands for Forward
In partnership with the Conveyancing Foundation, Aconveyancing’s annual summer networking and charity event was held in Atherstone, welcoming colleagues from across the organisation and the sector to participate in a range of wild and wacky challenges – always good-natured but (rightly) never straying too far from being competitive!
Teams undertook a range of problem solving, mystery unlocking and whole-team skill challenges, all in the hope of winning first place.
With the sunshine, hospitality and beautiful location of Mythe Barn in Atherstone, there were plenty of smiles throughout the day, with trophies and certificates awarded to all entrants. And for those that weren’t up for the physical challenge, there was a chilled social event in their networking Tipi into the evening.
Fundraising including sponsorship packages, purchasing challenge event team places and on-the-day collections which were substantial in helping them reach their fundraising target.
Natalie Moore, Founder and Managing Director of Aconveyancing, chose The Forward Trust in recognition of our work to change attitudes of addiction – and issue that is often overlooked across the industry. Natalie’s vision to improve awareness of addiction and the support that is available demonstrates Aconveyancing’s progressive attitude towards supporting its colleagues but also the wider sector. Natalie said:
“It’s widely known that there is a strong association between the legal profession and addiction issues. It’s a challenge to avoid alcohol in the job we do – whether that be work nights out, networking and events. The Forward Trust claim that ‘everybody knows somebody’ and I believe that we can do more to raise awareness of addiction within our industry, work hard to stop the stigma surrounding addiction and amplify conversations around the support available to those who might need help. If we can do that whilst having fun, bringing together our conveyancing community and making a day of it, all the better.”
As a result of Aconveyancing’s support of the Forward Trust, other organisations in our sector have actively started to consider addiction and the issues that surround it as part of their day-to-day planning.
For example, at the British Conveyancing Awards in March 2024, alcohol-free tables were also established by the event organisers to support inclusivity – a big step forward within the legal professions networking events and hopefully a catalyst for similar adaptions for future events.
This fundraising event was kindly sponsored by Mitigo, SearchFlow, Novus Strategy, Landmark, Groundsure and Leap.
